Things to do

Fishing

Dolgadfa and Llanerch have their own fishing on a beat of the Dee exclusively for guests of Bala Cottage Holidays. Running for ¾ mile, it is widely regarded as one of Europe’s finest grayling rivers; it also offers fly fishing for grayling, salmon, trout, and sea trout. Considerable river bank management work has benefited fish habitat as well as the biodiversity

Walking

We have breathtaking scenery in this part of the world: the Berwyn Mountains and Dee Valley are on the doorstep of our holiday cottages, and Crogen Estate has wonderfully diverse land within its boundaries. A short drive takes you to Arenig and Aran Mountains, and of course, there is the wonderful Snowdonia National Park. We think that this part of North Wales has some of the most beautiful walking you will find.

Adventure & Days Out

For more adrenalin-fuelled activities  – from canoeing to rafting, gorge-walking to high-ropes, paintballing to zorbing  – you can try Get Wet, Activity North Wales, Visit Bala. For more sedate activity, there is pony trekking or the steam railways at Llangollen and Bala.
